Saw this movie yet?
K & W was hyping on this movie since day one. So yesterday I finally managed to get my hands on the DVD courtesy of A.
Requiem for a Dream is an Academy Award nominated 2000 film adaptation of the 1978 novel of the same name written by Hubert Selby Jr and adapted into a film by director Darren Aronofsky. The cast includes Ellen Burstyn (nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actress), Jared Leto, Jennifer Connelly and Marlon Wayans.
This film depicts the different forms of addiction, leading the characters' imprisonment in a dream world of delusion and reckless desperation, which is overtaken and devastated by reality. (source: Wikipedia)
As meaningful as the show is, I'm actually really impressed with the way how it was shot. May I say "very artistic". The fast forwarding, the very tight close ups, the camcorder effect, the strapping-camera-to-self shots, the different metaphoric cuts from one character to another.. amazing...
Im not a very good movie critic so this is as much as you can get from me. My suggestion is to watch it and then give in your own thoughts. ^_^
